Hey Clark, don’t you think it’s high time we took the family rafting? Featuring fun class II and III rapids this adventure will make you feel like a true river pioneer but at a level suitable for the whole family.
Get checked in at our headquarters in Stanley just 58 swerving-for-scenery-miles north of Sun Valley. It’s a short jaunt to our launch site where you will jump in your boat and dive right in where we put credence to the ironically named, “Piece of Cake” rapid. Between bouts of roiling rapid glory, your guide will ramble endlessly on the wildlife, salmon, local lore, geology, and much more. Following your guide’s spirited monologue and right before lunch you will run “Warm Springs Narrows” a ¾ mile long stretch of punchy yet forgiving whitewater which passes singer Carole King’s wilderness ranch.
After this invigorating morning on the river you’ll be starved. So we will pull over at our riverside lunch perch where you will encounter our chef putting the final sprigs of parsley on an unforgettable meal. Although the menu changes daily, we take you to foodie heaven preparing riverside meals rarely found in these parts.
A typical meal with us features a main dish like chicken a la king, several vegetarian side-dishes including homemade salsa and chips, a green salad, freshly baked bread, and a homemade dessert. Hey, we eat this stuff too and therefore insist on using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. Vegetarian, gluten free, whatever turns your dial we can do it. Not even your picky little rascals will want for more.
We are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions, heck we’ll even cut the crust off of your kid’s PB&J. Drinks include iced tea, lemonade, hot chocolate, coffee, and of course good old water. If you need a little something to calm your nerves or boost your blood sugar, wine, beer, and soda can be purchased before your trip.
After filling you up we ease your digestion, floating peacefully down to Torrey’s Hole where your chariot, our sleek bus, will be waiting to take you back to the River Company Headquarters.
